SAT/ACT Prep: How to Stay Sharp Over Summer
During the school year you dutifully took an ACT prep course after school and completed practice test after practice test.
Now that summer break is here, your next opportunity to take the SAT or ACT may be months away.
And, although the summer can be a great time to take a break from the hustle of the school year, you don’t want to let your diligent preparation go to waste.
Here are three ways you can stay sharp over the next couple of months:
1. Keep Reviewing
Before you groan, you don’t have to dedicate hours a day to test prep. In fact, that might be counterproductive.
All it really takes is short, focused, and consistent practice, and you’ll be able to retain your skills and even boost your score!
Start by doing one practice question a day, and follow Revolution on social media for tips and practice material.
2. Read and Continue to Learn!
With all of the homework and assessments of the normal school year, learning can seem much more like a chore than a source of fun.
However, learning new things and expanding your mind can be an incredibly exciting task! Interested in film and television? Research online or take a trip to your local library to find a book about the history of Hollywood!
Take some time to explore your passions and interests. It will not only keep you entertained during the break, it will help you ace the reading sections on your tests in the fall.
3. Make a Study Group!
Find a friend that is just as dedicated to getting a great SAT/ACT score as you are and hash out a study plan. Setting up a weekly review session will not only help your SAT scores, but it’s also a great way to stay in touch with your friends over summer break!
Need help staying accountable? We can create a customized study plan with weekly assignments and prompts to simplify your preparation.
Just 45 minutes a week will ensure your skills are fresh come test day, so you can earn the score you deserve.
